Zone 7 retained HydroMetrics WRI to evaluate its groundwater model and recalibrate the model to new data. HydroMetrics WRI provided recommendations for updating the model, particularly issues related to historic mining sites that will be used as recharge sites in the future. HydroMetrics WRI implemented a pilot points approach to recalibrating the model with an appropriate amount of heterogeneity. Also, HydroMetrics WRI helped develop Zone 7’s internal groundwater modeling capabilities.
